Recycling and Climate Change

If you asked a million people what they're doing to combat climate change, "I recycle" would probably be the most common answer. 

 

Unfortunately, recycling is related to climate change mitigation only in a very limited way, and that linkage has gotten more tenuous over time as recycling markets have become more complicated and in some cases counter-intuitive in their impact.
